Permissions and privacy

What VidLingo can and cannot do.

Why does VidLingo need access to YouTube?

It runs on YouTube watch pages to capture video audio and show the translation overlay. It does not need broad website access.

Where is data processed?

Translation and AI voice calls go through BrickAI servers. Provider keys stay server-side and are never placed in the extension.

Can I stop it anytime?

Yes. Press Stop in the popup or overlay; the session ends and the overlay removes itself.

Is Chrome required?

Chrome is the first supported browser. Other Chromium browsers can be considered after the initial launch.
